Thanks to the likes of Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez and Nicki Minaj, bigger bums have become the number one body trend of the last few years.
Instagram has been full of bum selfies – or ‘belfies’ – in recent times, and it’s now been revealed that the trend could have more positive health implications that we thought.
New research suggests that women with big bums are more likely to be both smarter and healthier than others.
According to research conducted by the Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism at Oxford University and the Churchill Hospital, a Kim K-like bum can only be a good thing.
As Indy 100 reports, the study found that women with larger behinds are more likely to have lower levels of cholesterol and produce more hormones to combat the effects of sugar.
They’re also less likely to contract cardiovascular disease due to an increase in adipose tissue on a bum and upper thigh.
The increased levels of Omega 3 present in larger backsides is also directly linked with a higher intelligence too, which can only be a positive.
Turns out Kim Kardashian is the perfect role model – who knew?
