The escalating row between Conor McGregor and 50 Cent could see the pair take their feud into the Octagon for an extraordinary UFC bout.
McGregor and Fitty have been involved in an online spat stretching back several months now. It all started when the Irishman labelled 50 “a bitch” during the build-up to his fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr – a close friend of the rapper.
The P.I.M.P. star responded in kind, claiming he could beat the Irishman in a street fight.
At the time, Fitty claimed that McGregor would see a “white light” but, more recently, the pair have been at loggerheads after the rapper blocked the UFC star on Instagram.
McGregor called the rapper out over the incident.
“He blocked me on this,” McGregor wrote. “The mad 50-year-old instagram blocker…Ahh don’t block me 50 kid, I still like some of your songs. The older ones hahah.”
Worse was to come, however, from 50 Cent, who unleased a racially-tinge video rant on Instagram which was subsequently deleted. Unfortunately for Fitty, someone was able to capture it before he took it down – and it was pretty strong stuff.
In the clip, 50 labelled McGregor “talented-for a white boy” before launching a tirade on
the genetic differences between races noting that “in order for white people to make a champion, they had to make Rocky.”
50 Cent has also taken a swipe at McGregor’s fans and his relationship with Dee Devlin, which came under scrutiny after the Irish fighter was snapped alongside Rita Ora in a picture the singer captioned “date night”.
“They love ’em some McGregor,” 50 said of McGregor’s fans. “They get their haircut like McGregor. All that shit. Soon as they get that first big check they gone leave their motherfucking wife and kids like McGregor and shit.”
There’s really only one solution to this increasingly ugly exchange; a fight in the Octagon.
50 Cent’s money troubles are well documented while McGregor would no doubt relish the chance to silence one of his main detractors.
UFC boss Dana White, meanwhile, would undoubtedly be open to the idea of the fight and the chance to further boost the profile of the fast-emerging sport with a fight involving a world-famous star.
Who knows? Maybe 50 Cent will win! Maybe…
