It’s a well-known fact that most lads lie about how often they have sex.
After all, plenty of people like to overcompensate when it comes to talking about their love lives, and a new survey by Mintel is putting this idea to the test.
The company asked over 3,000 people how frequently they had sex, and the results are… well, pretty hard to believe.
Amazingly, 3% of people said they have sex every single day.
Think about it – that’s 365 days a year, with no time off. So, those 3% are either superhuman lovers, or they’re total bullshitters.
Meanwhile, one in five were more realistic about their love lives, saying they had sex a few times a week.
In fairness, Lucy Cornford from Mintel said that the company is aware young people like to overstate their sexual prowess, and often end up sounding like Jay from the Inbetweeners.
She said: “With younger males the most likely to say that they are having sex on a daily basis, this makes them a key demographic to target with sexual health advice, potentially even leveraging dating platforms to do so.”
To be fair, if someone asked loaded how often we had sex, we might exaggerate a little bit. But every single day of the year? That’s some serious going.
