Time to go commando?

A good night’s sleep is essential for keeping fit and healthy, but potentially millions of men could be making a huge mistake during nap time without realising it.

According to a new scientific study, what you wear to bed could be having a terrible effect on your sexual health.

Scientist Dr Brian Steixner from the Institute for Men’s Health at Jersey Urology Group in the US has warned that sleeping in a pair of boxers could be playing havoc with your fertility.

According to his research, wearing underwear has an effect on the temperature of the genital region, which could harm your sperm count.

Dr Brian says: “Your nether regions need to be just the right temperature in order to optimise sperm production.”

The good doctor recommends stripping off over night, to make sure things don’t get too hot.

It’s not just temperature either. His study shows that there’s also a risk from infection for me who wear boxers.

“More bacteria makes for a higher likelihood that any chafed or irritated skin down there becomes infected,” the study reads.

If might be right in the middle of January, and absolutely freezing outside, but going commando on a night could just be the key to peak sexual health.
