Daisy Ridley popped up in an advert for Morrison's alongside Freddie Flintoff. It’s very odd.

Watch: The Bizarre Daisy Ridley Supermarket Advert Guaranteed To Make You Cringe

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, Daisy Ridley wasn’t the face of Star Wars: the biggest movie franchise on the planet…

The year is 2012 and with the England football team doing battle at Euro 2012, supermarket chain Morrison’s are busy promoting a selection of hot snacks – perfect for enjoying alongside the soccer, of course.

In the ad, several friendly members of Morrison’s staff talk us through a selection of tempting treats. There are chicken drummers, pork pies and a rather meaty looking pizza, all of which is being served up to a group of ordinary folk inexplicably watching the game on a oddly placed sofa positioned in the middle of the supermarket.

But who’s that perched on the end of the sofa? A rather young looking Ridley, that’s who, whose presence is confirmed during a close-up that sees her heartily chowing down on half a pork pie dipped in ketchup. Yum.

Quick as a flash, cricket star, professional lad, and the official face of Morrison’s at the time, Freddie Flintoff, appears gatecrashing the party with the aforementioned pizza in his hands.

Seconds latter his fellow revelers descend on the Italian dough-based delicacy. Ridley weighs in, resisting the temptation to use the force as she makes a play for a slice iof ‘Za.

The advert cuts to a glamourous shot of the two pizzas on offer at Morrison’s meaning we don’t get a glimpse of Ridley getting her hands on the snack.

Fortunately, the dulcet tones of Flintoff can be heard, cheeily declaring: “Get off me pizza!” before we fade to black. A cheesy appearance in every sense of the word.

Ridley would return to our screens again a year later popping up in a series of short films before landing her first role in a 2013 episode of Casualty that would lead on to much bigger and better things.

And to think it all started with her eating a pork pie and trying to still a bit of Freddie Flintoff’s pizza.
