A team of Manchester United legends took part in a special charity football game last night, and ended up conceding one of the best goals you’ll see all year.
Charity games are, usually, relaxed affairs, but the match between Dimitar Berbatov’s Manchester United legends and Luis Figo’s All Stars was more competitive than most yesterday.
The likes of Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra and Rio Ferdinand all played for United in the charity match in Berbatov’s native Bulgaria, but even they couldn’t keep out a wonder strike from striker David Trezeguet.
Just four minutes into the game, Figo’s side scored thanks to a stunning volley from the French legend, burying a left foot strike past the keeper from an acute angle.
The sight of David Trezeguet smashing a volley past Edwin van der Sar is pure 00s football nostalgia, and here at loaded we absolutely love it.
Watch the incredible goal below:
David James, Robbie Keane, Hristo Stoichkov, Krasmir Balakov, Stiliyan Petrov and Martin Petrov also played for the Man Utd XI, despite never playing a game for the club in their lives.
Roberto Carlos, Robert Pires, Deco, Christian Karembeu, Dwight Yorke, Michel Salgado, Maxwell and Jari Litmanen all played up against them for Figo’s side, in what has to be one of the most incredible line-ups we’ve ever seen, and all for a brilliant cause.
The star of the game had to be Trezeguet though, who played 71 times for France, scoring 34 goals in the process.
The 39-year-old has been retired since 2014, but you know what they say – class is permanent.
