Jane Park is a normal person like all of us. Except she has a terrible burden that makes her life impossible: she is a millionaire.
If it sounds like total bullshit, it’s because it is. 21-year-old Jane is the youngest EuroMillions winner in the UK, after winning the lottery when she was 17. But she now wants to sue the lottery for ruining her life. Sure.
According to Jane, she is tired of buying expensive clothes, not getting a boyfriend who doesn’t go after her money and not being able to go on holiday trips to less expensive places.
Nope, it still makes no sense.
Poor little Jane feels that “winning the lottery has ruined my life. People look at me and think, ‘I wish I had her lifestyle, I wish I had her money.’ But they don’t realise the extent of my stress.”
We all know that having enough money in your life to spend the rest of your days without having to work can be very stressful. Fetch me that designer bag! No, that other designer bag! It’s stressful just to think about it.
It is true, though, that 17 is too early to get so much money, as Jane says that “I think 18 should be the minimum age for winning the lottery, at the least. The current age of 16 is far too young.”
And of course, there’s the downside of not being able to go on holiday with her friends: “I don’t go on holiday that much, about four times a year. And although I’ve been to the Maldives I much prefer Benidorm because nobody is looking down at you. You can get as drunk as you want. In the Maldives, you can’t go and get absolutely hammered.”
Sorry to break it to you, Jane, but Benidorm is not that great. People in Spain see it as a tourist trap where Brits go to get wasted. Although if that’s what you want, good for you! Although you could also book an entire hotel in the Maldives, invite your not-so-rich friends and get wasted there. Just saying.
