A TV presenter has been fired after admitting that she was working a second job as a prostitute.
Senada Nurkic had been a presenter on the popular Bosnia and Herzegovina channel Pink. The 26-year-old, who had also starred on Bosnian reality TV, was sacked just a month after revealing she was moonlighting as a sex worker.
Pink announced the news, although they refused to say that she was fired because of her second career, but insisted that ‘viewer complaints’ about Senada’s ‘dirty talk’ were a contributing factor.
The spokesperson for the channel said: “Although the show was of an entertainment character without any intention to insult or humiliate anyone, and had good ratings, the management of the station made a decision to stop transmitting it.”
She added: “The reason is numerous complaints from the viewers who think that the show doesn’t belong on national TV. Because TV shows exist for the viewers and their wishes are important, the owners Zeljko and Milica Mitrovic respected their wishes and stopped the show.”
Despite the news, Senada has spoken out in defense of her job as a sex worker, saying” “Prostitution is a job like any other job. I don’t see anything wrong with it.
“I have to sell my body in order to survive, and to help them with money. I don’t see anything wrong in doing it.”
While prostitution is illegal in her country, Senada believes that her politician boyfriend will be able to get her off the hook.
“I have a boyfriend who is a politician and he will not allow my arrest. He protects me and will not allow me to be sentenced in any way,” she said.
