Newspapers are reporting that Matt LeBlanc could be about to quit Top Gear – unless co-host Chris Evans goes first.

The former Friends star joined the programme’s presenting team alongside Evans earlier this year, but the new-look Top Gear has been undermined by rumours of infighting.

LeBlanc has allegedly said to be frustrated by the on-set attitude of Evans.

The Sun are reporting that LeBlanc delivered a crushing ultimatum by announcing that he will have no part in any future series that features Evans. The former Friends star is signed up for two more series, leaving TV bosses with a potential choice between one or the other.

A show source is quoted as saying: “The team does not gel at all, and the atmosphere between the presenters is decidedly frosty. It’s very much a picture of him – Chris – and them.

“Matt has already indicated that he won’t continue on any further series if Chris remains a part of it. And he is far from the only one who isn’t happy.

“Chris is not encouraging when any of the others are doing their links.

“On one occasion this month he even pretended to bump his head against a wall in frustration when Eddie Jordan kept fluffing his lines.”

Fans have been vocal on social media in their dislike for Evans, with LeBlanc, Chris Harris and Rory Reid drawing more positive feedback from Top Gear diehards.
