The latest trailer for Tom Hardy’s hotly anticipated Venom movie has arrived and it would appear that the makers of the film have been listening to the fans.
When the first teaser trailer landed for the Spider-Man spin-off movie, fans were quick to criticise it for a lack of one key character: Venom.
Rather than show Hardy in action as the alien symbiote anti-hero, that first trailer saw him undergo his initial transformation, leading to fears among some fans that the film would only serve as an origins story and introduction to the character.
Those fears have been allayed by the arrival of the latest trailer though, which debuted at CinemaCon and already has fans excited for the film ahead.
This trailer has Venom front and centre, with Hardy’s character Eddie Brock not only undergoing the initial transformation but unleashing hell on a couple of generic comic book movie goons.
There are motorbike stunts, striking effects and a genuinely terrifying rendition of arguably one of the most iconic anti-heroes in comic book history.
In the comics, Venom becomes infected by the Symbiote after it is passed on to him by Daily Bugle rival Peter Parker.
That’s probably not going to be the case this time around though, given Tom Holland’s age and current involvement in the ever-expanding Marvel cinematic universe.
Venom is released on October 5 and also stars Riz Ahmed, Michelle Williams, Jenny Slate, Reid Scott, and Scott Haze.
With a striking new poster released alongside the new trailer, this film really cannot come soon enough.
