Tom Hardy is teaming up with one of the biggest directors in Hollywood to work on a movie being made exclusively for Netflix.
The Taboo star is collaborating with none other than Alien director Ridley Scott on a new war drama later this year, the Hollywood Reporter reveals.
The project, titled War Party, will reportedly be focused around real-life stories of US Navy SEALs.
War Party is thought to have been highly sought after, and Netflix beat the likes of Amazon, Universal and Lionsgate to buy the rights with a seven figure sum.
Andrew Dominik, who has previously helmed Killing Them Softly, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford and Chopper, will direct and write the movie.
Scott and Hardy have a history of working together, after Scott’s Free Films previously worked on Hardy’s BBC series Taboo.
Hardy’s stock is rising in Hollywood, especially after Taboo was renewed for a second series. Looks like his grunt-heavy acting technique is really paying off…
2017 is set to be a big year for Scott, with his movie Alien: Covenant set for release in May 19, 2017.
There’s also a rumour going around that Hardy is going to be involved in Star Wars: Episode 8, and we really hope he is.
