Tom Hardy’s Body Is ‘Damaged’ After All Those Movie Transformations

He's worried he'll "collapse like a house of cards" soon.

Tom Hardy might be known for being one of the henchest guys in Hollywood right now, but it wasn’t always that way.

Anyone who has seen his short, but memorable cameo in Band of Brothers, or THAT breakfast TV appearance he desperately wants you to forget, will know that he used to be stick thin.

Since then, Hardy has transformed his body on more than one occasion for the big screen, most notably bulking up for Bronson, Warrior and The Dark Knight Rises.

He might have looked pretty badass for all those roles, but it’s come at a cost. The actor has revealed that the constant changes have “damaged” his body for life.

Speaking to The Daily Beast, Hardy said his latest role as notorious gangster Al Capone might mean he has to go through another huge body change.

“It’s not the classic Al Capone that you necessarily envision with the silhouette,” he revealed.

“I don’t want to give too much away about it, but there’s definitely a transformation with that role.”

He went on to say: “I don’t know if it’s as drastic as Bane. I’ve probably damaged my body too much.”

Hardy added: “I’m only little. If I keep putting on weight I’ll collapse like a house of cards under too much pressure.”

Hardy is one of the favourites to take over from Daniel Craig as James Bond too – would he need to transform again to play 007? For his sake, we hope he wouldn’t have to.
