Margot Robbie’s rise to fame has been meteoric.
The Australian actress waved goodbye to Neighbours in 2011 and since then she’s notched up roles in The Wolf of Wall Street, Suicide Squad and The Legend of Tarzan.
This has allegedly come to the attention of Tom Cruise who, according to a report from OK!, wants to recruit Robbie for her next mission.
No, we’re not talking about Ethan Hunt’s new Mission: Impossible outing. Word from the celebrity magazine is that Cruise wants Robbie to be the face of Scientology in her Australian homeland.
“Tom is working hard to recruit her for Scientology,” an insider supposedly said. “Tom wants some big names from Down Under to be the faces of the religion there. He’s been telling Margot she can help transform the church’s image for a new generation.”
The anonymous source also alleged that Robbie was on Cruise’s radar to star in the long-in-the-works Top Gun 2.
The idea of Robbie as Maverick’s mid-air wingwoman might sound more appealing than another celeb becoming a Scientologist, but apparently it’s all just sketchy rumours.
Yet another anonymous insider told Gossip Cop that everything you’d heart about those Margot Robbie Scientology rumours are “not true”.
Who knows what to believe anymore?
One thing is certain, though: the Margot Robbie train keeps on rolling: she’s got her own Harley Quinn spinoff and an Oscar-bait biopic on AA Milne lined up in the near future.
