Danny Dyer made headlines recently after declaring an interest in becoming the new Doctor Who, and here at loaded, we were quite taken with the idea.
“I’d be interested in [Doctor Who]. I could see myself in the scarf and all that. I think I could do it easy. I’d keep my accent too,” Dyer told the Daily Star.
We can just picture him now – turning the Tardis into a boozer and battling ‘them slags’ the Daleks – but there’s one person who might be about to stop him becoming a Time Lord.
Unfortunately for Danny, Tilda Swinton has emerged as the bookies’ favourite to take over from Peter Capaldi, and it might have screwed Danny’s chances right up.
Swinton has been experiencing a surge of support from punters over recent times, and her odds have dropped to around 7/2, according to Ladbrokes.
Ben Whishaw, Olivia Coleman and Maxine Peake are also amongst the favourites to take on the role.
Swinton is known for her roles in We Need To Talk About Kevin, Doctor Strange and The Chronicles Of Narnia, and she’d be a great acquisition for the BBC show.
There’s no doubt Tilda would be fantastic as the first female doctor too, but we kind of had our hearts set on Danny Dyer.
