Just when you thought you had a pretty great watch, McLaren ruins everything with a flashy timepiece costing nearly a million dollars.

Using a brand new material called graphene, watch designer Richard Mille created and unveiled this new lightweight luxury item last week at SIHH watch salon. A kind of car show but for watches.

Well, this baby can give some fancy automobiles a run for their money. It weighs only 40 grams and is made from a nano-material that is six-times lighter than steel and 200- times strong according to WatchTime magazine.

The chronograph watch called the RM 50- 03 McLaren F1 is meant to resemble a world-class McLaren racing car with its red, yellow and green colouring and titanium mechanisms. You can also look right down into the gears and guts of the little machine thanks to an exposed watch face.

“The Richard Mille RM 50-03 McLaren F1 will be produced in a numbered, limited edition of 75 pieces and will be available only at Richard Mille boutiques, priced at $980,000. Each watch will be accompanied by a 1:5 scale model of the McLaren-Honda racing car driven in 2017 by Double-World Champion Fernando Alonso and Stoffel Vandoorne,” writes WatchTime.

We’ll check our piggy bank and see what we can do to get our paws on one of those.
