This Is The Best-Looking James Bond Actor According To Science

The Golden Ratio of Beauty Phi also revealed the ugliest actor to play 007.

He may be an alcoholic womanizer and the world’s least secretive secret agent but few can deny that James Bond has always cut a dashing figure.

From Sean Connery through to Roger Moore and even Daniel Craig, 007 has always been a pretty dapper sort – but which is the best looking of them all.

A new scientific study has finally uncovered the truth after analysing the faces of every actor to play Bond using the Golden Ratio of Beauty Phi. It’s allowed researchers to reveal both the best – and worst – looking James Bonds of all time and fans may not be happy.

Dr De Silva, runs the Centre For Advanced Facial Cosmetic And Plastic Surgery and explained the concept: “The Phi ratio of 1.618 has long been thought to hold the secret of beauty, and now with the computer mapping we can calculate exactly how it applies to men.”

The ratio is meant to be applied to faces and bodies, with those closest to the 1.618 ratio supposedly the best looking. And according to that theory, the original James Bond, Goldfinger star Sean Connery is the best of the bunch, boasting perfect symmetry and a geometrically perfect chin.

At the other end of the scale, it’s bad new for Craig who is supposedly the furthest from the Greek’s idea of perfection.

Roger Moore came a close second to Connery with De Silva heaping praise on the late actor for having “the best eye positioning of all the Bonds” and “a gorgeously symmetrical face and a great chin.” Nice.

Controversially Timothy Dalton came third ahead of Pierce Brosnan, with the Welshman complimented for his “perfectly shaped nose” though he was “marked down for his jowly jawline and chin.”

Brosnan was praised for having “the best nose of all the bonds” but was let down by his chin and poor “eye spacing.”

George Lazenby, meanwhile, earned some points for having the best lips of all the Bonds, so at least he has that as a consolation. Oh and he fared better than Craig.

According to De Silva, Craig “scored poorly because he has very thin lips, a bulbous nose and his face is very wide.”

“Craig has rugged good looks but they don’t accord with the Greeks’ idea of beauty.”

Unfortunately for De Silva, Craig’s “ugly” mug looks set to return for at least one more James Bond outing in 2019.
