It’s fair to say that the new rebooted series of The X-Files hasn’t quite been the mammoth hit everyone was expecting.

Ratings for Mulder and Scully’s latest series have been solid if not spectacular and critics seem non-plussed by Chris Carter’s new X-Files stories.

With nine seasons already under its belt, it probably won’t be grabbing a whole host of new fans due to the sheer amount of catch-up required.

Fortunately, a new Instagram account has emerged that gets you up-to-speed on pretty much everything you’ve missed out on.

DanaScullyStyle plays out the will-they-won’t-they romance between Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny’s FBI agents and, unlike The X-Files 2016, keeps its extra-terrestrial card close to its chest.

And it’s all done through the medium of Barbie and Ken dolls.

Here are five of the best offerings from the account.

Meanwhile, the show’s lukewarm return doesn’t seem to have deterred Fox entertainment president David Madden from hyping up a possibility of further adventures of Mulder and Scully. According to Madden, the show still has enough support from viewers to make it a reality.

“We haven’t talked to the talent yet about season two in any more definitive way than we had prior to airing the show, but certainly, it seems like there’s an audience responding to the show that would love to see more episodes,” he explained.
