President Donald Trump. Let that sink in.
The business mogul and former Apprentice host is heading the White House after securing 278 electoral votes to Hillary Clinton’s 218 to become the 45th President of the United States.
This shock political victory will come as no surprise to viewers of The Simpsons, who portrayed Trump as the US president in 2000 episode Bart to the Future.
Running with the slogan ‘America You Can Be My Ex-Wife!’, Trump was followed in the White House by an adult Lisa Simpson.
“We’re inheriting quite a budget crunch from President Trump.”
Homer and Marge’s eldest daughter quipped in the episode that she was “inheriting quite a budget crunch from President Trump”.

Simpsons mastermind Matt Groening earlier described the decision to put a fictional Trump into the White House as “the most absurd placeholder joke name that we could think of”.
Dan Greaney, who wrote the classic Simpsons episode, chimed in in a separate interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
“That just seemed like the logical last stop before hitting bottom,” Greaney said. “It was pitched because it was consistent with the vision of America going insane.”
The Simpsons also tackled the idea of Trump in the White House with the 2015 short Trumptastic Voyage. In the clip, Homer fantasises about curing his baldness by journeying beneath Trump’s combover to his scalp.
