Bad breath is a common problem that we all face, and there are numerous products on the market to combat it.
Well, a dentist is claiming that they are pretty much useless – you only need one thing to defeat bad breath.
WATER. That’s right; you might not have thought of this solution before, considering it’s tasteless and therefore may not mask a foul odour.
Or you can try a dentist approved solution, and it’s not mouthwash or gum, which only masks the odour temporarily.
According to teeth expert Dr. Ada Cooper who spoke to Business Insider, a dry mouth is the main culprit when it comes to oral odour so by drinking a ton of water every day you’re on your way to fresh minty breath.
“When your mouth becomes drier, you have less saliva, and when you have less saliva, food and bacteria tends to sit in your mouth for a much longer period of time,” she stated.
The bacteria in our mouths that causes bad breath is prolific, to say the least. There are over 700 different forms of the stuff swimming around in there right now, and if left to sit there, well you should probably stay away from others for a while.
She also suggests brushing your teeth at night and always brushing your tongue since the majority of that icky bacteria lives on it.
