The most popular Netflix show in the WORLD has been revealed, and it’s quite a surprise.
A new study conducted by HighSpeedInternet.com has found the favourite show to watch on the streaming service via Google Trends data and by looking at the most watched shows by country.
The winner ladies and gentlemen? Sherlock. BBC’s very own strange sleuth brought to life by Benedict Cumberbatch is the star boy of Netflix worldwide. Wow.
Sherlock has become a much-beloved series in Britain, even though Cumberbatch claims the end of the show is sooner than we think.
He’s still signed on for the upcoming fifth series. Nevertheless, when the end does come, we’re sure it will live on in posterity and on Netflix.
However, interestingly despite its worldwide appeal, it’s NOT the most popular show in the UK, that title belongs to Call The Midwife.
Coming in second on the list is NBC’s Friends which holds fast despite ending its run thirteen years ago.
Rounding out the top five are Narcos, House of Cards and New Girl. We didn’t see New Girl coming, but it’s understandable that no one can resist Schmidt’s charm.
Netflix has been handing out a mixed bag lately, from Adam Sandler’s many attempts at humour to the outstanding documentary series, The Keepers.
Still, we didn’t expect Sherlock to come out on top. Really?
