The new series of BBC’s The Apprentice may have only just begun, but the headline star has already emerged in the form of lingerie entrepreneur Jessica Cunningham.
The co-owener of fashion brand Prodigal Fox, Jessica has quickly established herself as an audience favourite after endearingly branding herself “the female Jim Carrey”.
Prior to her time with Lord Sugar, Jessica had brushes with fame in clown-based horror movie Lock In, the BBC’s footy documentary series The Class of 92 (in which star striker Gareth Seddon appeared in a shoot for Prodigal Fox) and with loaded back in the days when it existed in magazine form.
You probably didn’t know this, but a 22-year-old Jessica entered a loaded competition to present on digital music TV channel Flaunt.

“I heard about the competition and thought why not. The whole process has been very exciting, we had to do a photoshoot in London and it’s been good to see my picture in Loaded magazine,” she said in an interview with the Burnley Express at the time.
“I have written a blog for the Flaunt website all about myself. I would really like a career in television and this experience will stand me in good stead. Now I just need people to vote for me.”
Her shoot for this very publication came shortly after she’d worked in Ibiza for two consecutive summers.
Alas, Jessica didn’t bag the gig on Flaunt, but their loss is Alan Sugar’s gain. TV stardom is now very much a reality thanks to her memorable run in The Apprentice.
