From The Big Lebowski to Sharknado...

Whether it’s her star turn in American Pie, or her scene-stealing performance in The Big Lebowski, everyone has their favourite Tara Reid movie moment.

The actress became one of the most recognisable actors of the late 90s after a great run of films, and she’s still making cult favourites as the star of the Sharknado TV movie series.

Tara might have made a few duds along the way (she starred in one of the worst films ever Alone In The Dark, notched up a tragic 1% on RottenTomatoes), but it’s easy to forget how many good movies she’s appeared in over the years.

Relive Tara Reid’s 5 greatest movie moments below:

American Pie

Tara Reid was at the height of her powers when she starred in classic teen movie American Pie. The film helped her on the way to becoming one of the biggest stars of the late 90s, and it remains one of her greatest movie moments.

She would go on to star in American Pie 2 and American Reunion, but it was her turn in the 1999 original that really caught our attention. She played Kevin Myers’ love interest Vicky in the movie, and set pulses racing for teenagers everywhere with that sex scene.

The Big Lebowski

Tara only turned up briefly in the Coen brothers’ cult classic The Big Lebowski, but she pretty much stole the show. We first meet Tara’s Mrs Lebowski in the 1998 movie hanging out by the pool, when she famously says to The Dude “I’ll suck your c**k for $1,000″ – cue nervous laughter from Philip Seymour Hoffman.

It has to go down as one of her most memorable movie appearances, and Jeff Bridges’ character is still looking for that cash machine…

Urban Legends

Another movie from Tara’s late 90s purple patch, Urban Legends saw her star alongside a baby-faced Jared Leto in 1998.

The film saw a serial killer carrying out murders based on descriptions of various urban legends and myths at New England university. The movie’s most recognisable scene saw Tara’s character chased by an axe-wielding maniac, and it’s still pretty scary now.

Despite it being Sony’s pretty blatant attempt to cash in on the success of Scream two years earlier, Urban Legends still stands up as an enjoyable slasher flick, and one that furthered Tara’s growing reputation in Hollywood.

Sharknado 1,2 & 3

Sure, Sharknado might not be the greatest film ever made, but it’s a whole lot of fun. Since starring in the original campy B-movie back in 2013, Tara has battled storms of Great Whites in two further sequels, and she’ll star in a fourth later this year.

The TV movies have helped raise Tara’s profile again recently, after a quiet few years in the mid 00s, and they remain some of the most enjoyable guilty pleasures out there.

Van Wilder: Party Liaison

Years before Ryan Reynolds single-handled made Deadpool a huge box office smash, you might remember he starred alongside Tara Reid in Van Wilder: Party Liaison.

The 2002 comedy focuses on Reynolds’ title character, whose parties have become the stuff of legend on the campus of Coolidge College. Tara plays a student journalist who writes a damning article about Van, which in turns leads his father to cut off his allowance and end his partying ways.

Reid and Reynolds have great chemistry throughout, and it’s one of her most enjoyable screen appearances to date.
