Sylvester Stallone might not be returning to the role of John Rambo in the new reboot Rambo: New Blood, but who does he want to replace him?
Fans were saddened to hear that the action movie legend will not be involved with the new Nu Image and Millennium Films project.
However, Stallone himself previously revealed who he’d like to star as the action hero, and it’s quite a surprising choice.
Speaking during an interview with Cinemablend, Stallone said he’d like to pass on the role to Ryan Gosling.
Stallone made the comments last year, before news of the reboot was announced, but could Gosling be a good choice for the new movie?
The Drive star is already appearing in one 80s reboot this year, after he was cast alongside Harrison Ford in upcoming movie Blade Runner 2049.
It’ll be sad to see Stallone depart from the Rambo series, after a 30 year connection with the action saga.
Stallone first appeared as the character in 1982 original First Blood, which took a closer look at the issues affecting Vietnam war veterans.
The actor also appeared in 1985’s First Blood Part II, 1988’s Rambo III and 2008 reboot Rambo.
