Britain is living in uncertain times. More general elections, coalitions of chaos and the prospect of Brexit on the horizon are all just a few of the massive issues facing the country
Prime Minister Theresa May remains in power for now, despite losing her majority after calling an entirely unnecessary election and everyone, to a man, is feeling a little lost in this increasingly divided nation.
Yet the scale of what lies ahead may not have quite dawned on us all, given everything that is going on at the moment away from the realm of politics.
That’s what makes Christian Zasche’s article on Britain “The Laughing stock of Europe” so concerning because it details, at some length, just how thoroughly screwed the UK is.
Since it comes from a Swiss newspaper, there will, of course, be those who see it as mere scaremongering from a pro-EU source.
However, the article has since gone viral on Facebook after being shared and translated by Paula Kirby early this week and, in the cold light of day, it’s quite difficult to disagree with a lot of what is being said.
Put together by an outsider with no particular interests, either way, it highlights how the UK government has conspired to create an almighty mess from a situation where once the nation was looking to be on the up.
