In Hollywood casting news you never saw coming, Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid has signed up for an unlikely role – Justin Timberlake’s grandmother in the Trolls film.
The animated comedy, which comes from Shrek creators DreamWorks, is inspired by those popular, whispy-haired creatures you probably remember from back in the 90s.
Well, Trolls are now back for an flick boasting the voice talents of Timberlake, Anna Kendrick, Zooey Deschanel and James Corden.
Reid has taken some time out from co-hosting GMB with Piers Morgan to put down her lines for a character called Rosiepuff.
“I never thought I’d be playing Justin Timberlake’s Grandma Rosiepuff – what a giggle.”
“I never thought I’d be playing Justin Timberlake’s Grandma Rosiepuff – what a giggle,” she said. “Recording my lines was a lot of fun and I’m very excited to have played a part in the movie.”
The line-up of British talents doesn’t end there. BBC Radio 1 DJ Greg James and Abbey Clancy will also be involved in the film.
“I only have one line… But what a line it is,” quipped James.
This isn’t the first time unlikely British TV stars have been involved in big budget Hollywood animations.
Andi Peters voiced the character ‘Male Baggage Handler 1’ in Toy Story 2 after interviewing John Lasseter. Shrek 2’s regionalised UK version also boasted the vocal talents of Jonathan Ross and Kate Thornton.
What next? Eamonn Holmes as Jack Black’s sidekick in Kung Fu Panda 4?
