Fans have been given another glimpse of what to expect from Super Troopers 2 – the crowdfunded sequel to the cult comedy hit – but it’s not quite gone to plan.
Originally Broken Lizard, the team behind the hotly-anticipated film follow-up, had planned to air a trailer during the Super Bowl. It’s something of a tradition for NFL’s showpiece event to feature some of the biggest and best movies set to arrive in the months to come.
A juvenile stoner comedy isn’t usually at the front of the queue for that sort of thing, but apparently the team behind Super Troopers 2 put together a trailer for the occasion.
The only problem was that the networks really didn’t approve of the stuff that featured – including a scene where someone gets their private parts covered in whipped cream will usually result in that.
Instead, the Broken Lizard comedy troupe behind the movie decided to debut the new clip on their Facebook page along with a warning: “The Following Spot Has Been Disapproved For Network Broadcast Due To Inappropriate Content.”
It’s difficult to disagree given the madness that follows:

For those unaware of what exactly Super Troopers 2 will entail, here’s the official synopsis:
“Everyone’s favorite law enforcement team is back by popular demand with the long anticipated follow up to the cult comedy classic…SUPER TROOPERS. When an international border dispute arises between the U.S. and Canada, the Super Troopers- Mac, Thorny, Foster, Rabbit and Farva, are called in to set up a new Highway Patrol station in the disputed area. Unconventional police work follows, and the result is…SUPER TROOPERS 2.”
Clearly designed with stoners and Marijuana advocates in mind, the film is being released on April 20. 4/20, right?
It will star Rob Lowe and a returning Brian Cox alongside all those other familiar faces you recognise from countless Broken Lizard movies down the years.
A sequel some 20 years in the making, Super Troopers 2 finally made it over the line off the back of a wildly successful crowdfunding campaign online.
Fingers crossed they can do something similar for Beerfest.
