The Suicide Squad extended cut trailer has arrived, and it delivers more of Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn than ever before.
The teaser shows new footage of Robbie in her pre-Harley Quinn guise as Dr Harleen Quinzel, confronting Jared Leto’s The Joker and pressing the barrel of a gun onto his forehead.
All pretty dramatic, plus a heavy suggestion that all those Joker scenes left on the cutting room floor will see now be seeing the light of day.
“There were so many scenes that got cut from the movie, I couldn’t even start. I think that the Joker… we did a lot of experimentation on the set, we explored a lot. There’s so much that we shot that’s not in the film,” Leto explained earlier this year.
In fact, the Oscar-winning Dallas Buyers Club star spent most of the Suicide Squad publicity blitz moaning about how he came out in the edit, darkly musing on the possibility of his death being the only way this ‘lost’ footage will see the light of day.
A bit melodramatic, Jared? It looks like most of what’s missing will be on the home release.
The new version of the film will be available on Blu-ray, DVD and digital download from November 28.
