A disgruntled Subway worker has revealed the various ways in which customers can get free grub from the fast food sandwich kings.

The anonymous “sandwich artist” revealed all during a chat on Reddit, including the two very specific ways you can get free food.

First up, there’s what you might call “the easy way” which essentially amounts to being extremely polite to the person serving you.

We’ll late the Subway insider explain:

“Start a lot of casual conversation and engage the sandwich artist. Then when he’s ringing you up, look into your wallet and exclaim ‘Oh s***, I thought I had more cash! I wont have enough.

“Again, it’s a gamble, but if you play your cards right, you’ll get a discount of some kind…”

Then, there’s what you could refer to as “the hard way” which involves a lot of acting and a little bit of being rude.

Once again, loaded will let our Subway snitch outline how this approach works:.

“Look really distressed and disgusted with how they’re making your sandwich. Order something, and take it to your seat, open it.

“Walk back and tell them it’s not made right. 9 times out of 10, they’ll just make you a free courtesy sandwich.”

Now, it’s worth noting that the insider was quick to stress that this approach may not work everywhere.

He did note that staff are trained to respond in this way.

As well as offering tips on how to get free subs, he also offered up two delicious sounding suggestions for what he reckons are the best Subway sub combinations on offer through the Eat Fresh chain.

For those watching their waistlines, there’s this:

“A Subway club on white/wheat bread with lettuce, spinach, tomato, pickles, bell pepper, onion, olives and jalapenos.

“Then add oil, vinegar, mayo, mustard, and SOMETIMES a bit of the subway vinaigrette instead of the oil and vinegar.

“Then just a bit of honey mustard and we are good.”

Anyone looking to really pig out, however, may want to try his second suggestion:

“Foot long Spicy Italian on the Italian herb and cheese bread, with double meats, onions and bell-peppers THEN toasted.

“Extra oil, two lines of vinegar, and if I’m feeling saucy, chipotle southwest and an avocado.”

Just don’t expect to get either of these bad boys for free.

Of course, this isn’t the first time someone has blown the whistle on what goes on behind the scenes at Subway.
