Our long, global nightmare is over.
The ‘World’s Hottest Woman’ has finally been found, and the honour has been bestowed on Victoria’s Secret model Stella Maxwell.
Maxim declared Maxwell numero uno, beating last year’s winner Taylor Swift to secure the top spot. “Thank you to Maxim for naming me No. 1 hottest girl 2016… I want to share this with all the women around the world because we are all Number 1,” she wrote on Instagram.
What do you mean you’ve never heard of Stella Maxwell? Here are five quickfire facts to get you up to speed on the most beautiful women on planet Earth.
She’s a true international woman
Born in Belgium to Northern Irish parents, she moved to Australia in her teens before heading on to New Zealand where her modelling career took off. After a stop in the UK, she now splits her time between Los Angeles and New York. As the video above shows, her accent is a thing of wonder. Is it any surprise that about five different countries are trying to claim her as their own?
She dated Miley Cyrus
Yes, the Wrecking Ball songstress and Maxwell were once an item. Allegedly. The pair were spotted locking lips in 2015 leading to frantic tabloid write-ups. Maxwell quipped that she hooked up with Cyrus through Grindr, while the pop star later denied they were ever serious. Miley, what were you thinking?
She’s social media dynamite
With 1.7 million followers on Instagram, Maxwell knows a thing (or 1.7 million) about getting people’s attention. A mixture of selfies, scantily clad pics and a penchant for body glitter and posing with other beautiful women has seen her popularity surge.
She’s worked with the biggest names in the industry
As well as Victoria’s Secret she’s modelled for ASO, Alexander McQueen and Chanel. Not only that but the pages of Elle, Vogue and i-D have been fortunate to have Maxwell grace their pages.
She’s got great taste in movies
Maxwell counts The Breakfast Club, Clueless and The Fifth Element among her cinema highlights. Stone cold classics every one of them. Time for the BBC to get her presenting on Film 2016?
