Saved by the Bell cast mates reunite for revealing interview

Former Saved By the Bell stars sat down for a revealing tell all interview

Controversy Saved by the Bell cast was beset with controversy after the book by Dustin Diamond

Dustin Diamond was once the geeky one in American hit TV show Saved by the Bell, playing Screech Powers, but in his later years, the eccentric child star has made a porno, spent time in jail and was supposedly behind a tell-all book about his cast mates which revealed some shocking details of life on set.

Well, now Dustin Diamond wants to set the record straight, after spending time in Prison. The 39-year-old was found guilty of disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon following a Wisconsin barroom brawl in late 2014 – spending three months behind bars as a result.

Speaking to former co-star Mario Lopez in a wide-ranging interview with Extra – Diamond explained the circumstances that saw him jailed.

He explained: “One of the girl’s friends [Amanda] was talking to sucker-punched my fiancée… she leant back to me and her face was covered in blood. I opened my pocket knife and said, ‘Let my wife go immediately,’ which worked.”

Setting the record straight on allegations he actually stabbed a 25-year-old man, Diamond said, “I had my pocket knife like this… and the blade was right here and the guy came from around me and grabbed my throat, and so he nicked his arm on the tip of it — it was a Band-Aid, the most expensive Band-Aid I’ve ever bought.”

Diamond also explained to Lopez during the interview that it wasn’t him behind the controversial tell-all book ‘Behind the Bell’ – where Diamond accused cast-mates of sleeping around and drug use.

He said: “I wanted to write a book about my life… I was supposed to talk to a ghostwriter for 40 hours total. I talked to a guy for 90 minutes total… another two weeks go by, and I get something in the mail, I get a copy of the book… They fabricated a whole bunch of stuff… I kind of super-railroaded on that.”
