Victoria’s Secret model Sara Sampaio has shot her most revealing poses yet.

The Portugese beauty revealed on Instagram that she’s got naked for the new issue of Maxim.

Talking about the shoot, Sampaio said: “It’s my first cover for the USA. I’m so excited! I love it.”

The pose sees Sampaio naked in the sea (or possibly a floatation tank) and was taken by French photographer Gilles Bensimon. The former creative director of Elle, Bensimon – best known as the photographer who snaps the aspiring models on America’s Next Top Model – has previously photographed the likes of Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington.

Sampaio, who has previously spoken of her love for drinking coconut water in the nude, has taken a surprisingly long time to land her first US cover shoot.

Now 24, she was discovered at a national hair modelling contest when she was 15, but had to wait until her 16th birthday before she was allowed to model professionally.

She became an Angel for Victoria’s Secret last year, having previously been on the cover of the Portugese edition of Vogue and having made her debut on VS’ catwalk aged 21 in 2013.

A supporter of plus-sized models, Sampaio has backed Victoria’s Secret’s campaign A Body For Everybody, saying: “Every body is different and every metabolism is different.”

In the same vein, Sampaio has spoken out against skinny-shaming of slim models, saying that the amount of hate mail she and her fellow Victoria’s Secret Angels receives is “ridiculous”.

And, seeking to reassure people that everyone has a bad hair day, Sampaio has taken to sharing poses on Throwback Thursday on Instagram of herself looking at less than her best. Inevitably, Sampaio still looks stunning.
