Frankie Bridge and Rochelle Humes may have been the only members of S Club 8 to hit the pop big time as adults with The Saturdays, but some of the others are not faring too badly either.
Take Aaron Renfree for example. Once a largely overlooked part of the kids’ pop group who started life as S Club Juniors and released two albums in the early 2000s, serving as a spin-off to the more popular S Club 7, these days he’s better known for his antics on Instagram.
A dancer with the company TK Spin, he’s proven to be something of a social media hit, thanks in no small part to the fact that he’s blossomed into something approaching a Greek God.
Chiselled jaw, designer stubble and a six pack are all par for the course for Renfree these days, with the former S Club 8 star proving there is most definitely life after pop.
Now a super-fit Instagram fave, Renfree’s next challenge could be his biggest yet with the choreographer in training to compete in the 2017 edition of the London Marathon.
Not that Renfree’s life since the end of the group has all been plain sailing. In his younger years he came out to his friends and family in a move that would have taken a hell of a lot of guts even in these more accepting, modern times.
He will be raising money for the Make A Difference Trust, a UK based charity that raises funds to help boost awareness and care for HIV and AIDS patients and offer support and education in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa. You can donate to Renfree’s fund here.
Here’s hoping that gets him “One Step Closer” to his target.
