Ronda Rousey is flexing her acting chops once again with a major role in the upcoming Mark Wahlberg actioner Mile 22.

The first trailer for the Peter Berg-directed thriller sees Wahlberg and the UFC phenomenon team up as government “ghost” operatives on a deadly mission.

So, if loud explosions, laser-pointed assault rifles, muscles and macho quips are your thing, this is the movie for you.

The official synopsis for Mile 22 is pretty much everything you could imagine:

“Mark Wahlberg stars as James Silva, an operative of the CIA’s most highly-prized and least understood unit. Aided by a top-secret tactical command team, Silva must retrieve and transport an asset who holds life-threatening information to Mile 22 for extraction before the enemy closes in.”

Berg and Wahlberg have collaborated on a glut of action blockbusters based on real-life events, including Lone Survivor, Patriots Day and Deepwater Horizon.

This is their first entirely fictional story though, meaning both Wahlberg and Berg will be off the leash and ready to unleash hell on cinemagoers.

The only disappointing thing is there’s no sign of Gerard Butler. Because everyone loves a bit of Butler with their action movie.

Despite this (non)setback, Mile 22 boasts an impressive cast that includes John Malkovich, Lauren Cohan, and Iko Uwais.

It’s also arriving on August 3rd. So we don’t have long to wait.
