Justin Bieber and Rihanna have been announced as headliners at this year’s V Festival, which takes place across two sites this summer on August 20 and 21.
Both performances from the pop giants will be UK festival exclusives for 2016.
After postponing the start of her Anti World Tour last week due to ‘logistical reasons’, Rihanna has given fans some good news, and will return to V Festival for the first time in five years to air tracks from her latest album.
Alongside Ri Ri at the top of the bill, and after breaking UK chart records by simultaneously holding the number one, two and three spot in the singles charts in January, Justin Bieber will be giving fans a sneak preview of his upcoming world tour, Purpose, which hits the UK in October.
The full line-up for the event, which takes place at the two festival sites in Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire, is set to be announced on February 24, following The Brit Awards.
There’s already a number of other names on the bill, with Sia and David Guetta also both performing UK festival exclusives at the event.
As well as penning her own material, Sia has written for a number of the world’s biggest stars including Beyoncé and Britney Spears, as well as penning V Festival headliner Rihanna’s 2012 hit, Diamonds.
Elsewhere on the bill, Bastille, Little Mix, Jess Glynne, John Newman, Years and Years, Rita Ora, Example, James Morrison, Fleur East and All Saints round off the pop acts on the first wave of artists.
And Faithless, Jake Bugg, Craig David, Tinie Tempah, Katy B, Travis, Foxes, Soul II Soul, Lethal Bizzle, DJ EZ, Sigma, Flight Facilities and Big Sean mark an eclectic mix to complement them.
For the first time at the event, the BBC will bring their Radio 1 Summer Of Dance stage to V Festival, with full details of the acts set to perform on it being announced on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show on Friday March 4.
Tickets for this year’s V Festival are set to go on sale this Friday February 26.
