Airport security restrictions mean it is practically impossible to get any sort of drinks onboard a standard commercial flight. Well, practically, at least.

Because, as it turns out some super-thirsty folk out there have been busy trying to work out a solution or “life hack” as the kids call it these days.

According to The Points Guy, there is a potential loophole available to those willing to put in the time and a whole lot of effort.

For starters, the rules put in place by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) passengers are totally allowed to bring empty bottles through security – it’s only applicable to the liquids inside.

But what if the contents of the bottle isn’t technically a liquid? Well, then you have a potential loophole.

As TSA rules state:

“Frozen liquid items are allowed through the checkpoint as long as they are frozen solid when presented for screening. If frozen liquid items are partially melted, slushy, or have any liquid at the bottom of the container, they must meet 3-1-1 liquids requirements.”

So take a frozen drink along, store it in ice and prepare to unveil it when required, leaving the ice behind.

Sounds simple enough right? And totally worth it, right? Right?
