The long wait for more David Brent is almost over.
Ricky Gervais has unveiled the new full-length trailer for his Office offshoot movie Life On The Road. After an earlier quickfire teaser whet appetites, this is an all-out laugh-fest that makes the film look very good indeed.
Life On The Road will pick up with Brent post-Wernham Hogg as he’s working as a sales rep for cleaning and ladies’ personal hygiene products.
His long-held dream of becoming a rock star refuses to die – he’s still touring the UK with rock band Foregone Conclusion in tow.
If that doesn’t sound like the makings of classic Gervaisian cringeworthy comedy then we don’t know what does. Watch the trailer for the movie above.
Life On The Road will hit cinemas in the UK on August 19, but outside of that Gervais is seeking world domination for the film via Netflix.
The streaming giant, who released his recent comedy flick Special Correspondents, will distribute the film to the rest of the world – including the US.
Good news for Gervais because this means “everyone’s going to see it”.
“[It’s] great for me, because I would rather 20 million people see it than half a million people see it in cinemas,” he told Opie Radio.
