The Rooney’s have opened their exclusive Barbados mansion for public use. However, it will set you back at least £25,000 a week during peak holiday season in the Caribbean. No biggie.
The house is located in Barbados’ ritzy Jasmine Ridge within the Royal Westmoreland Estate on the west coast of Barbados, a stone’s throw from Mullin’s Beach, a stunning enclave.
Location wise, the Mirror reports that, “It has become so popular with Mancunian celebs that residents have unofficially renamed the estate the ‘Northern Quarter’ – after the trendy area in Manchester.”
The estate itself includes a golf course on what used to be a sugar plantation. Nearby is the Royal Westmoreland Beach Club where residents can enjoy all the upper crust fare the island has to offer.
The reasons for the Rooney’s somewhat abandoning their former island refuge may have something to do with their noticeable appearances at the renowned celebrity haunt, Sandy Lane Hotel.
Though the Manchester United striker isn’t the only celeb owning a home on Ocean Drive, other names include: Andrew Flintoff and boxer Joe Calzaghe.
The mansion has five bedrooms, traditional Caribbean architecture, an outdoor dining space and movie room. If it becomes a tight squeeze there is also a two bedroom cottage adjoining the property.
It was purchased by the famous footballing family back in 2010 for £5 million but if you prefer something cheaper, nearby there are also three bedroom penthouses for £644,000.
