Josh Homme has issued a public apology after footage of him kicking a female photographer during a Queens of the Stone Age gig found its way online.

The incident took place at the Forum in Los Angeles, with a video posted online by Chelsea Lauren, the photographer who ended up spending the night in ER as a result of Homme’s disgraceful and unnecessary actions.

In the clip, Homme can be seen kicking the camera out of Lauren’s hands during a rendition of “The Evil Has Landed”. Why? No one knows and that seems to include Homme.

It sounds like he was basically in a bad mood and decided to take it out on someone who was just doing their job. Not cool.

Homme also cut his own face, intentionally, during the set, referred to the watching fans as “retards”  and also shouted “Fuck Muse”.

Leaving aside the fact that loaded wholeheartedly agrees with the latter sentiment regarding Muse, the Queens of the Stone Age star was completely out of line and he has since taken to Twitter to post a video apologising for his behaviour.

“Last night at a Queens Of The Stone Age performance, I kicked the camera of a photographer and that camera hit the photographer in the face. The photographer’s name was Chelsea Lauren,” he said.

“I’d just like to apologise to Chelsea Lauren. I don’t have any excuse or reason to justify what I did. I was a total dick and I’m truly sorry and I hope you’re OK… I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my life and last night was definitely one of them. I apologise for that , and to you.”

He added: “I want to be a good man, but I think last night I definitely failed at that. That means I failed my family and friends as well. I don’t want them to ever be ashamed or embarrassed about being around me or knowing so. So, I apologise also to my bandmates and my mum and my dad. My wife, my brother and my kids.

“Yeah, I’m gonna have to figure out some stuff I think. Because rock ‘n roll’s a wonderful thing, but it’s supposed to save and help people – not mess them up. So, Chelsea Lauren I hope you’re ok and I’m truly sorry and I understand that you have to do whatever you have to do, I just want you to know that I’m sorry… Goodnight, god speed.”

Unfortunately, for Homme, it may already be too little to late.

Lauren was taken to LA’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after the incident, as the camera Homme kicked out at ended up hitting her in the face.

She is now considering pressing charges against the musician and Homme really only has himself to blame after such sh*tty behaviour.
