Prince Harry, England’s most famously eligible bachelor, could finally be ready to settle down with the 32-year-old romantically linked to Meghan Markle.
An actress best known for her work as Rachel Zane on US legal drama Suits, the 35-year-old reportedly met the man fifth-in-line to the throne during a promotional tour for the Invictus Games, with the Sunday Express suggesting Markle has already been introduced the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Crikey.
With things moving fast for Prince Harry and his rumoured squeeze, loaded thought it best to do a little research into the woman who could one day, maybe, end up Queen of England or at least the holder of some other posh sounding title involving Wales or a random home county.
Not only does Markle volunteer as a global ambassador for World vision Canada but she has also been involved in the Clean Water Campaign in Rwanda and the HeForShe gender equality initiative set up by the United Nations Women.
Deal or No Deal
Prior to landing her signature role of Rachel Zane, Markle appeared in a variety of American TV shows, with bit parts on both CSI: NY and CSI: Miami standing out on her IMDb CV.
However, it’s perhaps also worth noting that she also appeared, albeit briefly, on the American version of Deal or No Deal as one of the many glamourous ladies enlisted to open one of the show’s number cases, which stand-in for the boxes used on the UK edition.
Reflecting on her time on the show, which amounted to four episodes, Markle said :“Working on Deal or No Deal was a learning experience, and it helped me to understand what I would rather be doing.”
At least on the US version she didn’t have to deal with Noel Edmonds every week.
When Markle’s not busy with charity work or her demanding role on Suits, she likes to unwind with a spot of Yoga.
“My mom is a yoga instructor, and I started doing mommy-and-me yoga with her when I was seven,” she told Best Health Magazine.
“I was very resistant as a kid, but she said, “Flower, you will find your practice – just give it time.” In college, I started doing it more regularly.”
All that hard work appears to be paying off, with Markle now something of a fitness fanatic who also runs on a regular basis. Sounds exhausting.
Previously married to film producer Trevor Engelson, the now-divorced Markle has been romantically linked to Rory McIlroy in the past and was rumoured to be dating a Canadian chef until recently.
Probably not the guy Harry wants to book to make the wedding cake then…
If Harry is looking to win Markle’s heart, then he could do worse than write her a letter – and we mean write not type.
The 35-year-old attended an all-girls’ Catholic school in her younger years, where she excelled in the art of…handwriting.
“I’ve always had a propensity for getting the cursive down pretty well,” she explained in one interview.
“At the end of the day, if the guy is going to write the girl a letter, whether it’s chicken scratch or scribble or looks like a doctor’s note, if he takes the time to put pen to paper and not type something, there’s something so incredibly romantic and beautiful about that.”
Harry, take note. Literally.
Food & Travel
They say that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach but the same may be true of Markle, who is an avid foodie who loves nothing more than travelling to far-flung locales to enjoy regional cuisine.
“Food makes travel so exceptional, because you get to taste what it’s actually supposed to taste like,” Markle previously explained. “To eat the real Pad Thai or finally have a proper curry is something pretty amazing.”
The creator of the food-orientated website TheTIG.com, it’s fair to say a takeaway Domino’s Pizza probably won’t cut the mustard on a Netflix and Chill night.
