Pickled onion flavour Monster Munch is pretty much a national institution in the UK thanks to their distinctively moreish taste – but something bold and exciting is on the horizon.

In the pursuit of new and exciting flavours, the brains behind corn ship giants Doritos has unleashed something astonishing: pickled onion flavour Doritos.

It’s a potential game-changer for crisp fans the world over, bringing the addictively sharp flavour of pickle to the Doritos stable.

Dubbed Doritos Intense Pickle, the official website for the flavour hypes them up to the max.

“Enjoy the extreme crunch and explode-in-the mouth flavour as you and your friends dive into a bag of Doritos® Intense Pickle flavoured tortilla chips,” the website blurb reads.

“Savour the tanginess of the intense pickle flavour in every bite.”

Drunk, stoned or just plain sober; these crisps are going to be flying off the shelves.

There is a twist of course. There’s always a twist.

And this one is a big’un: pickled onion Doritos are currently only available in Canada.

Oh, and they might have been around for as far back as 2011.

Sure you can get them shipped pretty much anywhere worldwide if you do your research, but it’s still a lot more hassle than heading down to your local supermarket for some crisp-based relief.

Given the UK’s predilection for all things pickled, however, it can surely only be a matter of time before these bad boys are unleashed on the public.

And when that happens, life will never be the same again.
