Perving In Parliament: There Were Over 24,000 Attempts At Accessing Adult Sites In Just Six months

People tried to access porn sites on British parliamentary computers more than 24,000 times over the space of just six months, new figures have revealed.

A Press Association freedom of information request has revealed that between June and October 2017, there were a total of 24,473 attempts to access adult websites.

That amounts to an average of 160 requests per-day on computers connected to the parliamentary network, Russia Today reports.

Despite these figures, that number still represents a signature reduction in the previous year’s total of 113,208 attempts. There were 213,020 attempts in 2015.

The decline appears to have coincided with a spate of sleaze allegations that have dogged Theresa May’s Conservative government.

Damien Green was forced to step down as Secretary of State after a retired-police officer accused him of having thousands of pornographic imeages on his computer.

Green was subsequently found to have made “misleading” statements related to the accusations, which dated back to 2008, and was forced to leave office by May as a result.

A parliamentary spokesman offered up the weakest of explanations in a statement published by RT:

“All pornographic websites are blocked by parliament’s computer network. The vast majority of attempts to access them are not deliberate. The data shows requests to access websites, not visits to them.”

Oh so it’s okay that they just tried to access porn. That means they probably didn’t touch themselves at work, right?

“There are 8,500 computers on the parliamentary network, which are used by MPs, peers, their staff and staff of both Houses. This data also covers personal devices used when logged-on to parliament’s guest wifi.”

So you’re saying it’s not just the politicians? Right. Now we can sleep soundly knowing everyone in parliament is wanking.

Another freedom of information request previously revealed there were over 2.75 million attempts to access blocked websites on the parliamentary network from January to October of 2017.

It’s official: politicians are quite literally wankers.
