Goalkeeper Offered Year’s Supply Of Pizza If He Can Keep FA Cup Clean Sheet

Papa John’s has offered Fleetwood Town’s Chris Neal the ultimate match-day bonus.

The FA Cup trophy.

Papa John’s are pulling out all the stops in an attempt to spur Fleetwood Town to a famous FA Cup upset against Leicester City.

The takeaway pizza specialists, who are sponsoring the League One underdogs for the third round tie, have promised goalkeeper Chris Neal the ultimate match-day bonus: a year’s supply of free pizza.

All he has to do to earn this unique bonus is keep a clean sheet against the Foxes and former Fleetwood hero Jamie Vardy who is returning to the Highbury Stadium for the first time since his big money move to Leicester back in 2012.

Vardy has enjoyed a meteoric rise since, winning the Premier League with Leicester and establishing himself as a key part of the England national team setup.

Neal and his Fleetwood teammates will be hoping to bring Vardy and the Foxes back down to Earth though come 12:45pm on Saturday.

The 32-year-old shot-stopper will get one month’s worth of pizza for every 7.5 minutes he keeps a clean sheet too, so expect Fleetwood to keep things tight from kick-off.

“As a club, we’re really looking forward to the challenge of hosting a Premier League club at Highbury,” Neal said.

“It should be a great occasion for our fans and I’m hoping to do my bit for the team by keeping a clean sheet and earning myself some pizza in the process- I might even share a slice with one of our strikers if they manage to score at the other end!”

Just remember one thing Chris: much like pizza, football is a game of two halves. Sorry, couldn’t resist.

Papa John’s are sponsoring Fleetwood Town ahead of their big match by backing the underdogs with a special Jamie Vardy inspired promotion where fans can get a large pizza for £9.99 (RRP £18.99).  Order now at PapaJohns.co.uk
