Paige VanZant is a pretty tough cookie.

There’s not much else you can say about her after learning that the UFC star suffered a very painful looking arm break, mid-bout, before fighting on for a further two rounds.

VanZant suffered the injury during her flyweight debut against Jessica Rose Clark – a bout she went on to loose on points over three rounds.

That she even made it that far is pretty ridiculous though, after snapping one of the bones in her arm, clean in half.

Not everyone watching the fight realised the extent of VanZant’s injury at the time, but the truth soon became clear, with the 23-year-old taking to social media to share the news of her horror snap.

Not only did she post a picture of her heavily-swollen limb but also an x-ray of the bone break itself.

“Well… I broke my arm in the first! I was able to finish the fight but as you can see, had a hard recovering and throwing my right,” she wrote on social media.

“I’ll be back better and stronger than ever! It’s all apart of the fight game.

“God had other plans for me.”

The 23-year-old still managed to come out on top in strikes, scoring 68 to Clark’s 67, which is pretty commendable in the circumstances.

Despite earning plenty of plaudits for her efforts, VanZant’s loss means she has now tasted defeat in three of her last four fights.

The win was welcome relief for Clark, meanwhile, who had her Las Vegas home broken into while she was in St Louis preparing for the bout.

Not only did she lose around £22,000 worth of her stuff but her beloved pet cat, Dwight, had to be euthanized after thieves repeatedly kicked the one-year-old feline, leaving him with broken ribs and other internal injuries.

Here’s hoping someone snaps one of their arms pretty soon.
