Orlando shooting suspect’s father revealed as Afghan Talkshow host

The father of the Orlando gunman Omar Mateen, Seddique Mateen, has been revealed as having a strange background of his own as investigators in Orland try and uncover more details behind the horrific shooting at the Pulse nightclub over the weekend. 

Omar Mateen, an American who is resident in Florida, killed approximately 50 people and injured 53 more at the Orlando gay nightclub, Pulse, in a homophobic terrorist attack. 

The elder Mateen has been revealed by the Washington Post that he was once a talk show host and also claims to be President of Afghanistan.  

Mateen hosted the “Durand Jirga Show” on a channel which broadcasts from California. 

In the most recent video of the show which appears on YouTube, Mateen announced his candidacy for the President of Afghanistan. 

He later turned to Facebook which he uploaded a video, hours before his sons attack on the gay community in Orlando, the elder Mateen referenced himself as President in an incoherent rant.
