Nicolas Cage has pretty much done everything in his movie career.
He’s starred in action classics Con Air and The Rock, won an Oscar for Leaving Las Vegas and become a one-man meme factory thanks to his role in the disastrous remake of The Wicker Man (“the bees, not the bees!”).
Cage has also worked with some of the biggest directors going like Martin Scorsese, Ridley Scott and Spike Jonze. Despite his glittering screen career, there are still a few things on his movie bucket list, namely star in a major Disney film.
In a new interview with Collider, Cage opened up about his desire to appear in remakes of a pair of old Disney animated classics.
“I would love to be in Dumbo as the ringleader or Pinocchio as Geppetto,” Cage said.
Now if that isn’t a tantalising enough proposition, how about the idea of Cage turning into a song and dance man for a full-blown musical?
“I haven’t done a musical yet I would really like to do that; I know that’s coming back en vogue right now with La La Land,” he said.
“I always wanted to do one of those almost like the golden age MGM musicals maybe one day I’ll get invited to do that.”
Could we soon be seeing Nicolas Cage dancing across the streets of Manhattan in a new West Side Story? Or somehow crowbarring himself into a remake of Grease?
The mere thought of it is too much for our movie-loving brains to handle.
