Neymar Pays “Tribute” To Stephen Hawking In Sh*ttiest Way Possible

The Brazilian ace found a unique way to piss people off.

Neymar isn’t the most likeable of footballers at the best of but, even by his standards, his tribute to Stephen Hawking on Twitter was pretty shitty.

Hawking passed away at 76, following a lifelong battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

After his death, tributes came flooding in with everyone from NASA to Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the worldwide web, taking to social media to praise Hawking.

Neymar decided to do things differently though – he decided to make it about him.

Posting a picture of himself, in a wheelchair, laughing while recovering from a broke right foot, the Brazilian decided to draw a parallel between his plight and the plight of Hawking, who lived with ALS for decades, having originally been given months to live.

Neymar posted the image alongside a caption quoting the cosmologist saying the following:

“One has to have a positive attitude and must make the best of the situation that one finds oneself in.”

The rest of that quote actually reads: “If one is physically disabled, one cannot afford to be psychologically disabled as well.” Neymar didn’t include that bit. Because Neymar is a dick.

Hawking never let his debilitating disease get the better of him and achieved so much where so many before him would have crumbled.

Neymar hurt his foot playing football and earns an estimated £3,200 an hour. He’s also an asshole on the pitch, regularly goading opponents and even his own teammates.

Still, at least his chances of winning a Champions League with PSG this season have already disappeared down a black hole.
