January is that one month of the year when pretty much everyone heads to the gym, eager to get in shape ahead of another busy year.
It’s the perfect time to turn over a new leaf, change those unhealthy ways and try something new. It could also be the perfect time to try the latest gym craze: naked exercise classes. Well, if you want to, of course.
Clothes-free workouts might seem a pretty extreme concept but it actually dates back to the ancient Greeks, who preferred to exercise in the buff back in the day. They did a lot of things different back then though.
But while a lot has changed in the centuries since the Greeks led the way, nude exercise is definitely back on the agenda. 2017 already saw naked yoga emerge as a must-try way of finding inner peace and things look set to go up a notch in 2018.
Top New York gym Hanson Fitness – home to celebrity clients like Tom Cruise and Rihanna – have just unveiled plans for a series of naked gym classes. There’s apparently some science to the nudity too.
“Working out without clothes provides a number of benefits to your exercise including skin breathing, the release of endorphins due to Vitamin D from sunlight and complete body awareness so you can see if you’re cheating on your exercise routines,” the Hanson Fitness Facebook page reads.
“The class is designed to be a total body workout that uses your body weight as resistant to work the glute, butt, legs and core – making you look and feel good naked.”
According to the Daily News, the gym will be offering three completely naked classes for anyone looking hang out with their wang out or jam out with their cl…you get the picture.
Though it’s unclear at this stage whether this will require visitors to do more than simply wipe down equipment, it has been confirmed that the gym will offer three different classes: all men, all women, and mixed.
Gym owner Harry Hanson explained the rationale behind the naked gym classes:
“Our approach makes sure our members get and stay in the absolute best shape, and our new naked personal fitness sessions are no exception. This new development brings with it a range of fitness and health benefits and allows our members to have a little cheeky fun in the process!”
With NKD Training – naked gym training for men only – already proving popular in the UK, it seems that more and more people are looking to get buff in the buff than ever before.
