Egyptian MP ‘accidentally’ sent porn to 256 fellow politicians on Whatsapp

The incident has been described as “very unfortunate” by one politician. No kidding…

An MP in Egypt’s House of Representatives is in hot water after seemingly sending pornographic material to some 256 of his fellow parliamentarians.

The unnamed politician has gone on the record to claim that the incident was the result of hackers, after a pornographic video was sent out via a closed WhatsApp group.

With the United Kingdom currently in a state of turmoil following the result of the recent referendum on the European Union, the story does at least prove other politicians across the world are capable of making a pig’s ear of things.

However, despite being described as both “unacceptable” and “very unfortunate” by several local politicians speaking to masrawy.com, the incident could have far more concerning repercussions for those involved.

The distribution of porn in Egypt is illegal while some have even called on the government to ban access to all pornographic websites within the north African nation.

This latest incident is unlikely to help matters much.

The unnamed MP is believed to have reported the incident as a hacking, with further actions likely to follow.

As a seedy 1970s tabloid reporter might say, “things have gone tits up for this guy, in more ways than one.”

Always be careful with Whatsapp, folks.
