Swedish model Elsa Hosk has spent recent years strutting her stuff up and down the catwalk for Victoria’s Secret, but she easily could have avoided the limelight in favour of a career as a sportsperson.
Elsa Hook played basketball professionally for two years, and has revealed that her mind-set before a game is similar to that she adopts before walking in the most popular catwalk show in the world.
“I’m so pumped before a game,” Hook tells the latest edition of Maxim.
“I love the adrenaline. My brain is competitive and I get myself to a point where I feel like I’m going to explode. It’s so much fun. I can’t really play it. Playing sports is great when you’re young. It teaches you how to focus.”
To prepare for her catwalk shows, Hosk admits that getting her focus and mentality in the right place is essential.
“I prepare for it mentally,” she says. “It’s a crazy, amazing day. I try to meditate a little extra before the show so I can be in the moment and enjoy everything that’s happening.”
To achieve her insane body, Hook spends 8 weeks before the show undergoing intense preparation.
“I double my workouts and think more about what I eat,” she reveals when speaking of the two months before the show.
“When you know millions of people are going to be watching you in your lingerie, you need to be as ready as you can be.”
