“Sean Penn has a penis nose”: Mean Tweets gets hilarious Oscars special

Watch Hollywood’s finest read out cutting social media insults.

Not even the glory of an Oscar victory can shield Hollywood superstars from social media insults.

Ahead of Sunday’s Academy Awards, US chat show host Jimmy Kimmel has unleashed a new Mean Tweets video featuring some A-list Oscar winners and nominees.

Kimmel’s team swept through the deepest, darkest corners of Twitter to assemble abuse directed at everyone from George Clooney to Christoph Waltz, Cate Blanchett and Eddie Redmayne.

Here are six of the very best from the latest round of Mean Tweets – which the stars read out themselves on Kimmel’s show Jimmy Kimmel Live on ABC:

George Clooney (from @Tann_Matt)

“If that gross ratty old man George Clooney can find a girl… you regular fellas out there in the twitterverse must be drowning in pussy.”

Jessica Chastain (from @MrFoxNYC)

“Jessica Chastain looks like Julia Roberts’ ghost.”

Eddie Redmayne (from @Reemawi)

“Eddie Redmayne looks like someone tried to erase his nose, but couldn’t completely. I also think he looks perpetually dehydrated.”

Susan Sarandon (from @pattywhacker)

“Tired of Susan Sarandon having her big fat saggy boobs in my face.” (“You wish,” was Sarandon’s excellent comeback.)

Seth Rogen (from @camille)

“Convinced that Seth Rogen is really just Dustin Diamond (Screech from Saved By The Bell) with 150 extra pounds on him.”

Sean Penn (from @Jenny_IDLYITW)

“Sean Penn: 1) has a penis nose, 2) has a scrotum face, 3) has an anus mouth, 4) is a butthole.”

Kimmel has released more than 20 Mean Tweets videos, racking up million of views in the process. Previous editions have seen President Obama get insulted about his greying hair, tough NFL stars reduced to wrecks and a live edition.

The 88th Academy Awards is at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday. Doubtless, social media will be appropriately kind and respectful to all the nominees, especially those who remember to thank every single member of their entourage during acceptance speeches.
